Postcards from Italy #2: Siena

Heute gibt es von mir noch ein paar Schnappschüsse aus einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsstädte: Siena. Ich habe mich schon vor drei Jahren restlos in die Stadt verliebt und musste folglich auch dieses Jahr wieder durch die wunderschönen Gässchen spazieren.

Wenn man es denn dann geschafft hat, einen Parkplatz zu finden, erwartet einen eine wunderschöne Mischung aus Geschichte, Kultur und toskanischem Flair. Highlights sind neben den zahlreichen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und kleinen Cafés und Restaurants vor allem der Dom mit seiner beeindruckenden Fassade und der halbrunde Piazzo del Campo, auf dem jedes Jahr das berühmte Pferderennen Palio di Siena stattfindet. Was sind eure Lieblingsorte und Plätze in der Toskana?                           In today's post I want to show you some snapshots of one of my favorite cities: Siena. As I visited this wonderful place three years ago, I already fell in love with this city and therefore really had to return to Siena to walk once more through these small streets. After you have managed to find a free parking lot (which is quite a difficult thing to do, though), one can expect a beautiful mixture of history, culture and the exceptional Flair of Tuscany. Sights to see are, besides the countless shopping opportunities and small cafés and restaurants, the cathedral with its impressive front and the semi-circled Piazzo del Campo, on which the famous horse race Palio di Siena takes place every year.
